If you got the money honey… well ermm no…

Oh dear Axl. When will it end? No-one says you have to chum up with anyone but a pinch of professional maturity wouldn’t go amiss every now and then.

In case you’re wondering exactly which incident I am referring to (I can understand why if you are) it’s Mr Rose’s recently dismissed lawsuit against games company Activision to the tune of $20 million. It’s a sum Axl and his lawyers felt he was entitled to in compensation for what he claimed was a breach of contract over the use of the song ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ in the 2007 game Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock.

The inclusion of the track was allegedly on the proviso that reference to neither Slash nor Velvet Revolver appeared in the game, and yet a dirty great picture of the top-hatted one was slap bang on the cover. Pedantry aside, what really amazes, although it’s rather fitting, is the fact that it took three years after the game’s release for the claim to be put into the courts – particularly if it’s true that his lawyers objected during the game’s production…  maybe they had some other paperwork to get through first…

I tell you one thing – I bet Axl never says ‘I’m going for a slash’ when he nips off to the toilet…
